JANUARY FAMILY SERVICES. REACH, STRETCH AND GROW!!
So, what’s going on at Wellspring this New Year? Well, lots of things. The main thing is, Jesus has moved into the neighbourhood and Wellspring Community Church is not going to keep quiet about it. Another thing is Wellspring is excited about three little words. REACH, STRETCH and GROW!! In our January services we are learning how we can REACH our community and each other. STRETCH our minds, giftings and abilities. And to GROW together in Jesus and love!
We are all in ‘The Race of life!’ If we are still breathing we cannot escape that fact.
1. Let’s lay aside every weight. All the things that will hinder us from running this race and finishing this race.
2. Let’s run the race with patience and perseverance. Not a sprint it’s a marathon. There are hurdles. Some you have to pause before you jump over. Some you’ll knock over and have to come back and jump again. Some you’ll struggle to get over and need help to overcome.
3. Keep your focus on Jesus. Do NOT take your eyes off Him. He is also in the race with you, in the presence of His Holy Spirit.
Conclusion – We are examples to our local community and to a watching world. We want to ‘REACH’ them, with the message of the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We will see people come to follow Jesus, when they see how we follow Him.
Action – Make sure you’re in your lane and therefore the right lane. Don’t try to run someone else’s race.
Take a quiet moment to do a quick check. Spend some time, just you and the Lord, asking Him for His help and direction.
If you’ve wandered out of your lane, you’ll be disqualified, when the race is over. You may still be saved but you might not win that medal you should have been running for.
Lastly, don’t give up. You’re being cheered on and Jesus is the biggest and loudest cheer leader!
