Christmas Time

Christmas Time. It’s always an interesting season.

In the life of the church, we always seek to communicate the timeless and wonderful message of The Gospel, yet strive to be relevant to the people and communities we represent and live in.

Well, I’m hoping this Christmas season, at Wellspring CC, has lived up to and surpassed all expectations?

What a marvellous Advent journey, Pastor Fiona and the team have taken us on? We kicked off our series with a challenge, from Pastor Fiona, to delve into our Bibles and look for signposts of; Hope, Joy, Love & Peace, that we now know we find in every book of The Bible. Well done to Paul Cassidy, Roy King, Pastor Fiona (& myself 😊) for executing the brief.

But, we were also challenged to look for signs of Hope, Joy, Love & Peace, around us and in the world in which we live. And my goodness, how excellent were our children, youth and young adults in delivering that, with excellence? I think Pastor Fiona has shown us what hidden talents we have, at Wellspring CC, but they won’t stay hidden for any longer.

It’s testimony to the many years of sowing, teaching, training and loving, that you have all done, with this group of kids and young people. Let’s take the limits off them and watch them soar to new heights, in God?

Our Christmas Carol service was awesome. Well over 100 people in attendance and what a buzz of excitement, activity and expectation? It was so good, even Santa turned up, with his pesky elf! What a team? 🎅🏾🎄 🧝‍♀️ 🤣

Christmas Day Service was a blast! What a team? Worship was awesome, the turnout was mind-blowing, and the service was bookended from Jamaica! 🇯🇲 😅 Pastor Fiona’s Mum opened the service in prayer and her Dad closed the service, in prayer. Magnificent!

And if I might say, the guy in the middle enjoyed himself. He spoke on this scripture:

“….. thanks be to God, for His indescribable Gift!”

2 Corinthians 9:15

What a great team of helpers, led by our very own, ‘little Sarah’ and Simon & Datif’s Grandson, Charlie? Wonderful.

We learnt the 7 keys to giving and receiving a gift, that God taught us and demonstrated in the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, to us.

I can’t fail to mention how impressed everyone has been (visitors and non-visitors alike) on the way the hall and the entrance has been staged. Lots of time, effort, and planning but what a wonderful spectacle. Couldn’t believe it when Santa and his elf took up residence, by the fireside? 🤷🏾🤣

So, check out the pics and videos. If you were at any of these services, then thanks for attending. If you weren’t, we look forward to you joining us, as we journey along, discover more of who God is, who we are, in Him and and continue to prepare for meeting Him, face to face.

Blessings, upon blessings
